Why Birds Belong in Your Home
In Indian homes, birds have always been more than decoration. A pair of birds suggests togetherness. A flock suggests family. A bird on a branch suggests a home that is settled, peaceful and full of life.
When we design table décor at Vedas Homes, we look for pieces that bring that feeling inside, so they do more than fill a shelf. Our two new bird family table décor pieces were made with that idea. Each one shows a small family of birds, made by hand and painted by hand, sitting together on a natural wooden base.
Made by the Karigars of Jodhpur
Jodhpur has a long tradition of metal craft and woodwork. Our own factory is in Jodhpur, and that is where these pieces are made, by karigars (artisans) who have worked with metal and colour for years.
Every bird in these two pieces was designed by hand and made by hand. No two pieces come out exactly the same, because every brushstroke and every bend in the metal is done by a person, not a machine. Small differences in colour and pattern from one piece to the next are part of what makes each one yours.
Vedas has been making home décor since 2017, as a manufacturer rather than a trader. When you buy from us, the piece comes straight from the workshop where it was made.
How Each Piece Is Made: From Metal Sheet to Finished Art
Here’s how a flat sheet of metal becomes a family of birds on your table:
Step 1: Cutting and shaping the metal sheet.
Our karigars start with a plain metal sheet. They cut out each bird’s outline by hand, then shape it so the body, wings and tail have depth and movement.
Step 2: Powder coating.
The shaped metal is then powder coated. This gives the metal a strong, even base layer that protects it and helps it last for years indoors. It also gives the hand-painted colours a smooth surface to sit on.
Step 3: Hand painting.
This is where each bird gets its character. Artisans paint the feathers, scales, patterns and eyes by hand, using lead-free paints. The bright multicolour details you see are painted one bird at a time.
Step 4: Mounting on a mango wood base.
Finally, the birds are mounted on a base made of mango wood. Mango wood has a warm tone and a natural grain, and it balances the bright colours of the birds with a calm, earthy finish.
Metal, powder coating, hand-painted colour and mango wood together give you a piece that is strong, colourful and natural-looking at once.

The Twilight Songbirds piece shows a family of colourful songbirds sitting on artistic metal branches, as if they have just landed together at the end of the day. The branches run along a long wooden base, so the piece reads like a small scene from nature.
Key details:
- Size: 21 inches (L) × 4.5 inches (W) × 11 inches (H)
- Weight: approx. 2 kg
- Materials: Powder-coated metal birds and branches, hand-painted multicolour finish, wooden base
- Design: Songbirds on a branch, long and low in shape
Where it works best: Because it is long and slim, the Twilight Songbirds piece suits console tables, TV units, long shelves, office desks and window sills. It fills a horizontal space without blocking the view behind it.

This piece is a cluster of five handcrafted metal birds, each standing on slim black metal legs at a different height. The varying heights make the family look like it is in motion, with some birds looking up and others settling down.
Each bird is hand painted with bright multicolour patterns, fine scale details and geometric designs, so the closer you look, the more you notice.
Key details:
- Size: approx. 19 × 16 inches
- Set: 5 birds
- Materials: Powder-coated metal birds, black metal legs, solid wooden base, hand-painted finish
- Design: Bird cluster at varied heights, with patterned feathers and scales
- Assembly: Simple assembly needed
Where it works best: With its fuller, taller shape, the bird cluster makes a strong centrepiece on a coffee table, side table, entryway console or a large bookshelf. It draws the eye and starts conversations.

Styling Ideas for Every Room
- Living room: Put the Bird Cluster on your coffee table with a small stack of books and a candle. The warm mango wood pairs well with fabric sofas and wooden furniture.
- Entryway: A bird family is a warm welcome. Place either piece on your entry console with a bowl for keys and a small plant.
- TV unit or console: The long Twilight Songbirds piece sits neatly in front of or beside a TV without crowding it.
- Home office or study desk: A bird on a branch brings a bit of nature to a work desk and makes long workdays feel lighter.
- Bookshelf: Use either piece to break up rows of books and add colour.
- Neutral rooms: If your walls and furniture are white, beige or grey, these multicolour birds add colour without needing to change anything else.

How to Care for Your Handcrafted Bird Décor
Hand-painted pieces stay beautiful for years with a little care:
- Dust gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
- Avoid water, harsh chemicals and rough cleaners. They can damage the hand-painted finish.
- Keep the piece out of strong direct sunlight for long periods, so the colours stay bright.
- Place it on a stable, flat surface away from busy walkways.
- These pieces are for indoor use only.
