Siya Handpainted Wooden Wall Clock — Sun, Clouds & Folk Art Design

The Siya Handpainted Wooden Wall Clock is a cheerful, sun-themed folk-art wall clock with a handpainted circular wooden frame in bright saffron yellow. A large radiant sun face with flame-like red rays dominates the upper section of the frame — the sun’s face is expressive, with red features and a playful folk character. White cloud puffs and small white star bursts fill the remaining sky-blue and yellow sections, creating a whimsical, sky-inspired composition.

At 30.5 cm in diameter and 6.4 cm in depth, this handpainted wall clock has a satisfying visual weight and a slightly domed profile that gives it a three-dimensional quality. The Roman numeral dial at the centre is clean and legible. The Siya suits children’s rooms, bohemian living rooms, eclectic nurseries, and any space that welcomes warmth, colour, and folk-art personality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wall Clock

Q1: What folk-art tradition does the Siya clock’s design draw from?

A: The solar motif with an expressive face, bold colour blocking, and cloud puffs reflects traditions found in Indian folk painting styles including Pattachitra, Madhubani sun iconography, and Rajasthani folk art. The style is broadly rooted in the Indian handpaint tradition rather than a single regional school.

Q2: Is the Siya suitable for a child’s bedroom?

A: Yes — the cheerful sun motif, vibrant colours, and folk-art character make it a joyful addition to a child’s room. The Roman numeral face also supports clock-reading learning for older children.

Q3: Is the domed profile different from a standard flat wooden clock?

A: Yes — the 6.4 cm depth means the Siya has a gently domed face profile rather than a flat disc shape.

This gives it a more sculptural, object-like presence on the wall that catches light differently than flat-frame clocks.

Q4: Does the Siya clock have any significance as a puja room decoration?

A: The sun face — Surya — holds deep significance in Indian spiritual tradition. Several buyers choose the Siya for puja rooms and meditation spaces where solar symbolism and folk-art aesthetics are valued.

Q5: What other décor items complement the Siya’s folk-art style?

A: The Siya pairs naturally with Swadesi Wall Decor, Wall Plates, and Wooden Wall Art in the Indian folk-art aesthetic. Table Lamps with warm Edison bulbs and natural textile throws also complement its warmth and palette.

Q6: How is this wall clock mounted?

A: The Siya comes with a pre-installed mounting bracket on the reverse of the frame. A single nail or screw in a plastered or masonry wall is sufficient given its 1.6 kg weight.

Q7: Can I place this clock in an outdoor covered space?

A: We recommend indoor use only — the handpainted finish is not weather-resistant and outdoor humidity or temperature variation would damage both the paint and the wooden frame.
